Jessica Faye D’Avanza lives as a writer and photographer exploring our complicated relationship with time and the physical spaces around us. Her work has appeared in Aegis, Toyon, and most recently The Sun. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a BA in English and American studies, she earned her master’s in library and information science from Simmons University. A new bike commuter by pandemic fate, her slow travel journeys began in 2006 aboard an Amtrak train bound from Boston to San Francisco, where it ran out of food by the Donner Pass and was eight hours late on arrival.
